We at Hand & Lock are delighted to announce that the Prize for Embroidery 2012 Show at the Fashion and Textiles Museum, London, is nearly upon us!
On the 5th of November, finalists from around the world will have their stunning embroidery designs judged by a panel of leading fashion industry luminaries. Our esteemed guests will also have a chance to vote for their favourite pieces in what is shaping up to be a extraordinarily dazzling bonfire night show.
The
event will begin with a mesmerising runway display featuring pieces by
our very own in-house designers. Expect to see some truly wonderful
embroidery on show, painstakingly hand-crafted by some of the world's
best embroidery artists and designers.
Our
12 finalists have exceeded all expectations with their stunning array
of embroidery designs, so expect this competition to be fiercely
contested all the way to the end! The judging panel will surely be hard
pressed to decide upon a winner, so we are also giving the chance for
every attendee to have their say in the matter, thus only the best
design will be crowned winner of the prestigious Hand & Lock Prize
for Embroidery 2012.
Once the finalists have had their pieces shown on the catwalk, it will be up to the illustrious judging panel consisting of:
Kathryn Sargent - CEO, Kathyrn Sargent Bespoke Tailoring
Alastair Macleod - Chairman, Hand & Lock
Pauline Kenny - Lecturer, London College of Fashion
Angela Harvey - The Lord Mayor of Westminster
Beth Smith - Editor, Selvedge Magazine
Karen Burrows - Managing Director, Madeira
Once
the votes from both the panel and the attendees have been counted we
will announce the extremely talented 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finalists.
We wish the best of luck to them all!
We
will be updating our website shortly with the outcome of the
competition along with all the details of how the night unfolded, so
please check back regularly or subscribe to our newsletter.
